A little bit of everything - EXTREMELY crowded most evenings, especially before holidays.  Your car will be stopped and the trunk/boot searched before you park, and your bag will be searched as you enter the mall.  On entry, you will be asked in Hebrew if you are carrying a weapon. Whether you love it or hate it, it's an experience and an insight into Israel's retail scene.

You'll find that street names, in both Hebrew and Arabic, are often spelled in any number of ways.  Think creatively... 'el-blank-street' may be listed as 'al- blank-ha-street', 'ha' can be 'har',  and so on...

The Jerusalem Post (Israeli) is also in English.  Many find this paper very right wing, politically.  It's widely available also online: www.jpost.com
